Today i was fine till I sat in my car going home I felt my throat a little, yesterday my littlest one was coughing in my face a few times, she has a running nose and complaint about her throat and who can blame a 3 year old..

How ever, I am pretty sure I will be better off just not training today as I don't feel fit enough anymore.. this actually might pass faster if I sit out a few days.

No gains will be lost, that would take weeks.

Pushing through and over exhausting myself and sweating etc. Would likely just cause more downtime.

Be smart, don't stress to much - a little pause is not a full stop and the fact that you might struggle giving yourself a pass on a pause like this just shows you are committed, so it is a win 🏆 not a loss - it's all about perspective.

Of course, not every little thing should be an excuse, but in this case I am certain it is the better decision.

Feel free to join in, sharing your struggle might also help to accept it and to keep you accountable not to abuse such a pause and keeping it real.

Hey I'm sorry to hear you're sick! You have a great mindset about it. You're absolutely right. Pushing when you're sick is not a great idea, usually just letting guilt or fears take control because like you said, it will take several weeks to lose any strength.

This is a lesson that has taken me a long time to figure out. I have a disability that limits me but I'm a former athlete and former military. My mentality is to always push through fatigue and pain. Only my illness will match me and raise however hard I push with weakness and pain until I can't walk or talk.

You shared some true words of wisdom there I'm glad I finally know myself
