Once I had an issue that my pinky got numb deadlifting.. what did I do? I had the issue my grip was to weak for the weight and it started slipping out of my inner palm to my fingers.. grip...
Actually pinged Daniel or the support back then, Daniel was with Arnold out for dinner and he asked hi... the answer was simply grip strength.
That's the quint essence of the issue.
Started using grippers again right away, the adjustable ones I had clearly where not hard enough, so I got me a heavier fixed set, see link below..
With these I always have a goal of 10x comfortable press downs per hand before I dare going up.
Always have one in my work backpack, perfect stress release, even in traffic sometimes.. not that I use them every single day, there are times indo more and there are times I use em less, but I have them there and I definitely improved.
Having them often on my desk, it's also a great and funny conversation starter.. as i get higher, less people are able to go for it.. of course, I am not superman and there are plenty that can easily do it, but that keeps it interesting and challenging for me as well. Beat them, always good to have some competition.

Re: Grip strength
Deadlifted some 4x 340lbs when this occurred.. on a trap bar / hex bar - for the complete picture.
For me it was a too quick jump.. lost full control of my form there what I since corrected, initially also lowered the weight and focused back on form - it's not about the weight, its more about keeping the form and good range of motion. I tell myself the whole time, leave the ego in check.
